    The gym is superb (lot's of racks and free weights, cardio, etc to get an excellent workout), the pool is ok, but there is no Sauna. What particularly ticked me off is that they used to just have monthly memberships, which was good for folks like myself traveling through for work and being based in NB for a few weeks. I guess greed must have taken over, since there is only an option to get a 3 months membership which turns into a 4 months membership with the 4 weeks cancellation policy. While that would maybe not too bad, if at least I could use that membership to train elsewhere when traveling for work, this totally depends on the policy of the other Y's, as I was told. Alternatively, the drop-in fee is an outraging $ 12! The Rec-Centre in North Saanich (Northern Victoria - and everyone knows that the Westcoast is usually far more expensive) charges $5.75 per drop in and they have a superb gym, a much better pool and a Sauna. Sorry, but the pricing policy of the YMCA in NB is totally lame and not social at all. The YMCA has always pretended to be a place where communities socialize and I guess someone working in a community for a few weeks is just not a wanted guest anymore. Gotta find a better place and won't support the local Y's anymore which is a shame really since I always liked the atmosphere and friendly staff at the Y. Please stop being hypocrites with all your social posters etc. - you are certainly not a social organization with those prices!
